50cc Scooters The Best and The Worst
86With the economies around the world failing and gas prices continuing
to rise investing in a scooter for transportation is a sensible and
smart idea. When choosing a scooter one must consider things such as
value, speed, reliability, and comfort. When purchasing your first
scooter speed isn't always an important factor. For this reason I
recommend a scooter with a small cc.
50cc scooters are a great
start for new buyers. They have great gas mileage, and some are even
noted to reach gas usage of 100 mpg. Those interested in not dealing
with the constraints and hassles of a car can hop on a scooter and be
on their way with no hassle.
50cc scooters are not for everyone
however. Those heavy in build may prefer a larger engine size. While
50cc scooters are relatively less inexpensive than other scooters, they
tend to have less features than those with larger engines and prices.

Cheap 50cc Scooters
Cheap 50cc scooters are not hard to find. There are many internet sites
that sell them for well under $1,000. Many 50cc scooters can even be
found on sites such as Ebay and Craigslist. MotorsportsDepot.com
offers their 50cc scooters for about $850 with shipping included. These
scooters are equipped with a free trunk and windshield and feature a
one year motor, frame, and 6-months parts warranty. Free residential
door step drop off as well as shipping insurance is included with free
lifetime toll free technical support. A free owner's manual handbook,
assembly instruction manual, and tool kit is also included with your
scooter purchase. This website offers different styles of 50cc scooters
with prices staying under $1000.
Scooterdepot.us
offers their bestseller 50cc scooter for $798 with shipping included.
They offer the same warranties and features as the scooters listed on MotorsportDepot.com but at a lower price. The cheapest 50cc scooter I found by far was the model offered by TheGoStore.com
was at a very low price of 399.00 with only a shipping price of $79.99.
Though this model only goes up to speeds of 35mph it unlike the other
models accompanies riders of up to 350lbs. This model however doesn't
list any kind of warranty plan but offers a technical support page
along with a parts page listed on the website.

More Reviews of 50cc Scooters
Perhaps one if not the most expensive 50 scooters I've reviewed is the
Vespa LX 50. This model is very appealing to the eye but one would hope
it would be at a price of $3,299. The Vespa brand has a long history in
scooters and in this case you get what you pay for. This scooter
reaches a maximum speed of 39mph and gets a great gas mileage of
95-100mpg. The owners manual is equipped with the appropriate time to
service your scooter and keep it up to date. The Vespa LX 50 offers a
large amount of accessories to personalize your scooter in any way you
want.
Another name brand 50cc scooter listed at $2,499 is the
Honda Ruckus. The Honda Ruckus can be filled with a little over one
gallon and has a tough rugged look different from the other 50cc
scooters reviewed. Honda offers a one year warranty with this scooter,
and the scooter comes in red and gray colors.
The popularity of
scooters continue to grow each year. Some figures have found that some
close to 42,000 scooters were sold in the US in the year 2000. That
number increased to 97,000 BY 2004, and the growth and popularity of
scooters is still growing.
With all the scooters I have
reviewed there is no question for those who want to get out and ride
that there is an option for everybody. Whether your big, small, old or
young there is a scooter out there for you. Whether your looking to
save money at the pump or looking for a great gift a 50cc scooter is a
great idea for anyone.

Vespas are the rolls royce of the Scooter world. I have a 100cc scooter in storage at home (we moved country - long story ) - I hadn't ridden for 20 years but faced with inner city parking costs a few years I bought a scooter - they are huge fun - but unless you live somewhere flat I recommend a bigger one than a 50cc
Good thread. You have to be careful that you aren't buying a terrible china quality scooter! You get what you pay for.
Scooters are the way to go in today's economy. Who can afford to run a car anymore?
I prefer at least a 100cc, the Vespa retro-looks are always classic.
I would recommend a 125cc scooter, they can cruise at 50mph & still give great mpg.

Nice article!
If you are going to buy a 50cc scooter and are comfortable driving them, I recommend the Yamaha Bws 50(called Zuma in united states). It has more power than smaller scootes, a little bigger bike, with wide aggresive tires, make it great on or off road. This bike is actually not a scooter, but its classified as a `speed restricted motorcycle` the only other bike in this class is the Honda Ruckus. Both are great investments, plus you get the quality that comes with the brand name. i have a 1987 Yamaha Razz, Still in mint condition, and my daily rider is my 2009 Yamaha Bws, I love this bike, will never buy a car again.

My primary form of transport at the moment is a motorbike but when I move to the city I'm definitely going to get a scooter.
Thanks for the info!
