Diets That Work
60Been scrounging to find diets that work for weight loss? I lost 60 pounds. Here is a secret: Most diets work! I know you're surprised, but the theory behind most diets is calorie control. The most successful dieters all have one thing in common; they count calories.
Why does calorie counting
work? It works because people with busy lives, and schedules may lose
track of how many calories they consume. It works because until you
know exactly what you're eating, you can't make a reduction. It works
because, and this is the main point, if you count calories, you don't
have to deprive yourself of any kind of food.
Everybody
has a downfall. I'm lucky in that I don't like butter, I'm not crazy
about chocolate, and I can live without candy and ice cream. However,
if there is any kind of bread or chips within 100 mile radius, I
could eat every last bit of it in one sitting. Trust me when I say
that every person has some kind of food they can't resist. Even
athletes. It's not always a matter of will power, although some
people will try to convince you that it is only about willpower.
Willpower is great, but it's definitely not enough. In fact, it's not
even 20% of what you need to successfully lose weight.
The
secret to successful weight loss is 40% calorie counting, 40%
exercise, 15% inspiration and 5% will power. There's no magic
involved. No pills, powders, drinks, shakes, etc. You don't have to
spend a lot of money, in fact, you don't have to spend any money. You
can make life a little easier by spending a few bucks, but it's not
necessary.
Before you read more on a diets that work, it's important to understand that not every diet will fit every person. As I mentioned before, everybody has a downfall. If you choose a dieting correctly, it's going to be difficult to follow, especially if it deprives you of foods that you love. If you have enough willpower to overcome that obstacle, is to more power to you. However, I suspect that you won't be able to follow that diet for the rest of your life. And that's very important when you choose a diet. The ability to change your eating habits forever. That's also why many dieters gain their way back. They use a fad diet that doesn't teach the basics of food portions. A successful diet is one which teaches that diet or how to change the habits they've learned, and which has caused the weight gain. If these lessons are learned, perhaps because a fad diet was used to lose the weight, then behavior after the weight loss will be exactly the same and the weight will come right back.

Diets That Work – Free and Not So Free
There
are only two diets that I will ever recommend. The first one is
free. Sparkpeople.com is the one that I personally use and have lost
nearly 60 pounds with. The spark website is the most amazing and
supportive site on the Internet, in my opinion. You can read more
about how I've lost 60 pounds with Sparkpeople on my blog about
losing weight. I will say that everything that you could possibly
want to know about losing weight is on that site, and they don't
charge you for a single thing. You can buy things to support their
site, for instance, they sell exercise equipment, but its not
necessary to use the site. I've been a part of their community since
2006 and I could'nt recommend a better site.
While
I love Sparkpeople, I can't mention them without mentioning another
program, Weight Watchers. I've never actually used the Weight
Watchers program, I mention them because; for one, they have had
enormous success with people that follow the program, and two, they
teach people proper portion size. Third, and most importantly, I
mention Weight Watchers because I truly love their food. It is,
however, not cheaper than making your own food.
Those are my two weight loss diets that work. There are other programs, but they aren't free and they don't teach good habits, in my opinion.
