(not that you shouldn't own a red blouse, because you should!)
• 1 cotton button down casual blouse, beige or neutral toned short sleeve, one long sleeved for winter.
• 2 white cotton t-shirts, 2 dark colored t-shirts (grey or black)

It's probably best not to buy them all at once, but to keep a checklist and buy a few pieces here and there. Adding one piece of basic ladies clothes to your closet can multiply your outfits. For example if you bought a blazer, you can interchange that with your skirts and dresses to make another outfit. Jackets:

• 1 rain – waterproof, heavy duty (keep another in your car if possible)
• 1 winter – If you buy a coat which can be used over an evening dress as well as be worn casually, you'll have a more versatile winter coat.
• 1 blazer neutral colors – can substitute being a jacket for warmth or adding to a pair of pants to make the outfit more business like.

Pants:

• 1 khaki casual – for occasions where jeans are inappropriate, but dressy pants are unnecessary.
• 1 -2 comfy jeans – 2 good pairs of jeans should last a woman a year or two
• 1 black dressy – Perfect for wearing to the office or to a semi- fancy dinner.

Skirts:

• 1 A-line or circle skirt in black is the best choice to wear with suits or just casually. This cut is the most flattering to all women
• 1 dressy skirt in chiffon or lace for evening wear.

Each closet should have a pair of black and white shoes as pumps, high heels, flats and sandals. Additionally it is helpful to have a multi-colored shoe in each style, keep the multi-colors simple. For instance a sandal can have a light floral print and a pump can have black and grey.

Jewelry, purses and scarves can dramatically change the way an outfit looks. If you add a bright colored scarf to a black dress and gold bangles you can wear the same dress two times in the same week and hardly anyone will notice.
