Wedge Shoe Colors You Haven't Considered-Yellow and Purple

By

It may be no secret that I'm obsessed with shoes. There are a few people that are as obsessed with wedge shoes as I am. Even as obsessed as I am, I had never owned a pair of yellow wedge shoes or purple ones, until recently. Because of some very cool looking purple wedge shoes, I'm a convert to color. Once one is hooked on color you can find hundreds of colors and styles to buy.

It's probably a lot easier for most women to choose black, white or other neutral colors when buying shoes. It's also a lot easier to find stilettos and flats than wedges. This means it is a even harder to find colorful wedges. It's worth looking, however, because the wedge shoe is one of the most amazing styles available on the shoe market. And some of the most gorgeous colors suit them perfectly.

It's Always Sunny in Yellow Wedges

Ahh the beauty of yellow. Magnificent and stunning in its femininity, yellow is the feel good color. A pair of yellow wedge shoes will make you feel bright and pretty. They're also dazzling enough to get a of compliments. Yellow doesn't go with everything, like black or white do, but a great pair of bright or pastel yellow wedges go lovely with black, white, and other shades of yellow. The bravest of fashionistas can take the risk of wearing yellow with purple, red or blue. Although yellow can look fantastic with those colors, it can also be a fashion disaster if the wrong shades are paired together.

One of my favorite yellow wedges is this Betsey Johnson pair called Mariana. The leather upper is made of a shiny patent with little white polka dots. The cut out design on the side makes this pair really unique and exceptional. Betsey Johnson has a tendency to make some pretty far out, but fabulous, shoes. This, however, is just a pretty, feminine pair that will go great with shorts, linen pants or a summer dress. It's my favorite pair of yellow shoes and it looks really fantastic on your foot, especially if you have a great tan or darker skin

My second recommendation is the Charles David pair called Firebird. These are a really gorgeous patent leather shoe with a fantastic wood wedge heel. What I love about them is they are closed toe, which is really difficult to find in wedge shoes, as most designers like them in sandal form. They're quite beautiful, however, and really make a statement. Wear them with jeans, slacks or a great denim pencil skirt, and you'll find they'll look terrific. The best part is even consumers that have purchased them think they're fabulous. Check out the reviews for more information, but to sum it up “Love them”, seems to be the consensus!

Purple Wedges

Purple is one of those colors that is severely underestimated. Not only is it a lovely color, it comes in so many shades that it can be worn throughout the year. There is dark purple which is almost black in color and works beautifully with whites, blacks and gold. Eggplant is a darker purple, but has a little brighter tint. Other great colors are lilac and lavender. With all the shades of purple, there are tons of ways to work it into your wardrobe. Purple is brighter and uplifting. It's associated with royalty. Brighten up any beige or tan colored outfit with a pair of dark purple wedge shoes.

I'm probably a little biased with Steve Madden shoes, because I own so many pair and like them so much, however, their Crazzy style is just too cute to resist. It looks fantastic on, it's great for sundresses, pants, suits or even silk. Wear them to a wedding or to the local mall and they're equally terrific. Madden is very comfortable in general and their shoes are well made, not cheaply put together. They have a strong wooden heel and a really lovely upper made of canvas. The slingback buckle strap has elastic, but you can't really see it, which I think is really important in the design. I mean who wants a big wrinkled strap on the back of your foot? The additional little studs that detail the sides is a cute little bonus. Really awesome pair of purple wedges in lilac shade.

Hollywould's Emma is hands down one of the prettiest patent leather purple shoes I've ever seen. They're classy and sassy and everything brashy (yeah I made up that word). The dark color makes it perfect for evening wear and for late fall, even with a peep toe. The color is called “plum” and unlike other things that use that term, it really is plum colored. The most amazing part of this shoe is how comfortable it is. One of the reviewers describe it using an old term “it feels like butter”. Of course when my friends used that term in the 90s we used to say “like buttah baby”. Soft and smooth against your foot, just what the doctor ordered.

Purple is my favorite color. Do you think these purple wedge shoes you speak of would be hard to find in really small sizes? I have a sweater that I think would match perfectly...
